I forgot to mention this last week, as I was busy working...

Tank Girl - Visions of Booga #3 from IDW Comics is out now in all Comic book shops.

If you can't find it at your local shop, ask, demand and generally make a big stink.

No... not that sorta stink.

Work, Exhibitions, and broken bodums..

Busy couple of days..

Just finished Tank Girl Skidmarks #2 today.. then staggered into town to have a bevvie with Garry Leach and Will Simpson (Who was in town for the day from Belfast...) Good craic, and far too many beverages!

I'm helping Rich Johnson put together a Comic Art Exhibtion at Harrods (Yes, Harrods..)

I'll inform of our art choices when they're more formalized.

This week, I've broken not one.. but two Coffee Bodums...

Coffee and chocolate get me through the day, so this was both expensive and frightening... No Coffee! I'm looking for a replacement made of concrete...

I also drunkenly bought a WW1 German helmet on Ebay.... Eedjit.

I'm gonna paint it up as a Tank Girl helmet.

I'll post up some tit bits of art in the morn... I'm shattered!

Childish Indulgences...

When I was a little kid we lived in Tokyo, and cycling home one night I was run over by a drunk driver.

In the aftermath of it all, the driver was terrified we'd sue him (He was a drunk cabbie)... little did he relise how easily bribed I was...

As is Japanese custom, he turned up at our flat to talk to my parents, and presented me with a Gundam toy... Iwas so impressed I'd have let him run me over again!

Fast forward 6000 years and my little brother Stephen sends me my battered and much beloved Gundam in the post as a Birthday present... I was as excited as a 10 year old...again!

Got me thinking that I'd like one in good condition to keep my battered friend... and he arrived today!

Hurray! Welcome to my robo family!

The Cream Of Tank Girl!

Been wanting to announce this for a while!!

Photobucket

Spewing filth and fury since 1988, Alan Martin and Jamie Hewlett’s anarchic heroine Tank Girl has long held the title of cult icon. Now, from the depths of the outback she charges, astride her fabulous tank, to celebrate her 20th anniversary with the release of a stunning new book this October from Titan Books, THE CREAM OF TANK GIRL!

Born 20 years ago, Tank Girl has so far spawned 41 strips, 8 monthly comics, 6 graphic novels, one prose novel, a Hollywood movie and thousands of adoring fans worldwide…and she’s not finished yet! The ultimate collector’s item, providing a definitive guide to Tank Girl and her world, this hardback coffee-table art book boasts masses of Jamie Hewlett’s finest artwork, including tons of rare art and the previously unseen comic strip The 16s, along with every Hewlett Tank Girl cover ever, plus publicity posters, script samples and more besides.

Replete with brand new and specially designed cover art from Jamie Hewlett, his first Tank Girl work for a decade, and commentary from writer Alan Martin, this celebration of a comics cult icon puts on show exactly what has made Tank Girl so eminently popular as it leads readers through two decades of history.

Bask in the glory of exclusive new commentary from writer Alan Martin! Shiver with pleasure at the sight of rarely seen drawings by Gorillaz genius Jamie Hewlett! Have a nice cup of tea whilst studying the recipe page! Verily, The Cream of Tank Girl is a smorgasbord of Tank Girl-osity.

ALSO COMING SOON…
A series of new ‘Remastered Editions’ of the original graphic novels! Collecting the strip in chronological order for the first time, these new trade paperbacks will feature slick new cover designs, brand new introductions and rarely seen artwork.

Artist Jamie Hewlett and writer Alan C. Martin created Tank Girl in 1988 for British music and comics magazine Deadline, generating a vibrant body of work that became a series of top-selling graphic novels. Hewlett went on to mastermind (with Blur’s Damon Albarn) the multi-million selling virtual pop group Gorillaz, before teaming up with Albarn again to create a musical stage version of Monkey. Hewlett was named Designer of the Year in 2006, while Martin has returned to Tank Girl with a new series of comic books and his debut prose novel.

Out soon!

On our new TANK GIRL series, written by creator Alan C. Martin and drawn by Rufus Dayglo and Christian Krank (the best-named art team in comics), have just been killing on their pages--a great mix of Jamie Hewlett's style and a look and feel all their own, too. Here're some pages from issue 3 just to further illustrate what I mean.
