If you're to sensible to be up that early, panic not, we'll be giving a talk (IE - rambling bollox) on Sunday at 1:30pm in the Theatre, and then signing/sketching at 2:15pm til we get bored, or a better offer.
Looking forward to meeting some of you peoples.
Ruf...Team Tank... Pencil Division
I draw my roughs both on the script, and in a sketch book, then scan them, and resize panels so they all fit ok.
I usually work in batches of 2 or 3 pages, that way I can alternate, when I get stuck or bored!

He'll be showcasing his beautiful art, and waxing lyrical on whatever crosses his mighty mind!
Set your phazers to Thrill Power!
Simon, 2000ad'sDesigner, very kindly let me play with the Dredd logo and put some colour burn etc on it, to bring the Booga Totem pole forward, in front of the logo.
This will be the cover for Episode #3, and I'm just finishing the art for Episode #4.

So I simplified it, and added the closeup...
Sometimes coming back to things the next day instead of slogging away at something is the best approach.
Right... back to work...
and the slightly improved version...

I was kind of amused, slightly bummed by some comments I saw about the Megazine Tank Girl stuff.. people complaining that I'd toned and put blue on a B&W strip.. no pleasing some huh?
I've changed the way I've toned the pages... The first episode I tried it completely flat, like a seventies Annual story, the second episode, I added some more tonal areas, and the third episode I went nuts, Toning everything... painting myself into a corner here.. LOL
I predict the online Meg readers will still complain, as it's not Judge Dredd...still... the new Judge Dredd Megazine 276 is out now... with Tank Girl in it.

Come along, there'll be some great art on display..
Next Monday sees the opening of the Harrods exhibition of British original comic book artwork curated by yours truly. "Comic Timing" will feature original artwork from "Watchmen," "The Killing Joke," "Gentleman Jim," "Tamara Drewe," "Breakfast After Noon," "Petra Etcetera," "Charleys War," "Commando," "From Hell," "Captain Britain," "All Star Superman," "Jack Staff," "V For Vendetta," "Jackie," "Face Ache," "Nellyphant," "The Filth," "Books Of Magic," "Phonogram" "Tank Girl," "Slaine" and much more, as well as the first "Judge Dredd" page from 2000AD #2 and early "Dennis The Menace" and "Oor Wullie."
It's free, it's open until the end of October, and then it's gone forever. Go along, tell me what you think and please, please, please blog about it.
Entrance via Door 5, Lower Ground Floor. Ask a startled security guard where all the comics people are, he or she will show you.
David Lloyd will also be doing a "V For Vendetta" presentation, and I'm hoping Bryan Talbot will do one of his shows in store as well.
In 1938 two Cleveland teenagers created the very first superhero, Superman. Today the home in which Jerry Siegel dreamed of leaping over buildings in a single bound has fallen into disrepair. Writer Brad Meltzer (Identity Crisis) became aware of this dilemma while researching his latest novel, The Book of Lies, and decided to start a campaign to save the birthplace of the Man of Steel. In this video you can watch Meltzer's appeal for help as well seeing the deplorable condition of the Siegel House. Several comic creators have donated items that will be available on eBay in the coming weeks, including CAF members Frank Cho, Dave Johnson, David Mandel, Michael Bair, and Ernie Chan, whose contribution is up for auction right now.
This building should be preserved as a national landmark and certainly no home should be allowed to remain in such a dilapidated state. The city of Cleveland has not seen fit to even affix a plaque denoting the historic value of the site, so it falls onto those of us who recognize the significance it bears in American culture to step forward. Please check out their website and give what you can.
It'd be a terrible shame to see another piece of history lost to indifference..
The house represents what 2 kids can do, when you use your imagination.

As mentioned only this morning...
Out next week... the conclusion to our saga... Tank girl - Visions of Booga #4 from IDW comics.
Buy it, and staple it to your head. All the cool kids are doing it.
Exclusively, here's Ashley Wood's cover to #4, and some interior fightage.
I went back and fixed a few pages I was unhappy with. I was having to work so fast, sometimes you just don't make the right choices first run through..
I was particularily bummed out by my awful work on the Tank Girl tat ad (A spoof comic ad for rubbish merchandise), that I went back and redrew and coloured it. Hopefully an improvement...
There's also a special 6 page story about Booga's 'journey of the soul', with excerpts from his writings and musings... which ties into the ending of VOB...
Which brings me to News pt.2..
Visions of Booga #4 out next week!
